COVID-19 Pandemic

The COVID-19 pandemic sent a shockwave through America and our healthcare systems. In Louisiana, one of the hardest hit states, Dynamic rose to the challenge—designing and deploying solutions that significantly helped the state’s crisis management programs.

With New Orleans being one of the nation’s most highly affected areas during the pandemic, the State of Louisiana selected Dynamic to design and construct a fully functional temporary medical care facility located within the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, Louisiana. Through diligent design, Dynamic maximized patient density with 2,000 individual non-acute COVID-positive rooms serving as supplemental support for hospitals across the state.

Immediately upon award, Dynamic mobilized personnel and materials to begin the construction process.

• Within 9 days, we completed the first 1,000 patient rooms along with 65 nurse stations, with the facility admitting its first COVID-19 patients the following day.
• Louisiana’s Department of Health admitted patients the following day, just 10 days after Notice to Proceed and ahead of the contractual schedule, alleviating a major burden on local hospitals.
• A second phase of construction was completed on schedule, increasing the facility to 2,000 patient rooms, 132 nurse stations, and 100 portable restroom and shower units. 

State officials expressed their profound satisfaction with our performance, particularly regarding our deliverables and the extraordinary speed of completion.
