2016 Louisiana Floods

Dynamic at the Forefront

From the moment the 2016 Louisiana floods wreaked havoc, Dynamic leaped into action to spearhead immediate and long-term recovery solutions for affected communities.

First Responder Shelter

Facing dire flooding, Livingston Parish’s first responders needed immediate shelter, as many had been personally impacted by the event. In collaboration with the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office, Dynamic:

  • Crafted a 45-unit emergency housing site for deputies and families.
  • Managed everything from resource procurement to site construction.
  • Transported 200,000 cubic yards of fill dirt and integrated essential utilities.
  • Ensured a well-lit and accessible environment for the displaced families.

USACE / FEMA Emergency Housing: Reinforcing Stability

As the floodwaters receded, an immediate need was clear: robust, swift shelter solutions. Collaborating with Elos Environmental to support the FEMA and the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Dynamic contributed its expertise as we:

  • Procured and managed resources for a 30-unit temporary housing solution.
  • Executed comprehensive site work, from clearing to waste management.
  • Seamlessly integrated utilities from power lines to water connections.
  • Integrated site enhancements like fencing and lighting.

Temporary Housing Repairs

The 2016 floods impacted 75,000 homes. At the heart of the restoration efforts, FEMA and the Louisiana Governor’s Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Preparedness (GOHSEP) launched the Shelter at Home (SAH) Program.

Dynamic was ushered in to steer construction management, material procurement, and strategic scheduling. Our Quality Control team meticulously supervised every detail to maintain adherence to program standards as we:

  • Ensured quality and safety in repairing over 400 homes.
  • Implemented innovative approaches to maximize the efficient use of funds.

Long-Term Housing Recovery

Post-flood, the State collaborated with Dynamic for the 2016 Restore Louisiana Homeowner Assistance Program. Our efficiency shone through with:

  • 800+ preconstruction evaluations.
  • 3,000 lead-based paint assessments.
  • $11.5 million of rehabilitation and reconstruction projects.

These endeavors stand as a testament to Dynamic’s commitment to rebuilding and revitalizing communities against all odds.
