Mississippi Tornado Response Logistics and Debris Removal Operations

Emergency Response

Stabilizing Tornado-Struck Communities with Speed and Care

In March 2023, a devastating tornado outbreak tore through central and northern Mississippi. The storms produced one EF-4 and two EF-3 tornadoes, killing more than 20 people, injuring more than 160 people, and destroying up to 80% of structures in some communities. Several municipalities turned to Dynamic for emergency logistics and debris removal operations.

Rapid Deployment of Critical Support

Within 24 hours of notice to proceed, Dynamic deployed resources to support the impacted communities. We provided:

  • Showers and restrooms
  • Comprehensive wash-and-fold laundry services to residents, first responders, volunteers, and utility crews
  • Temporary power generation and light towers
  • Onsite management teams to coordinate operations

In Rolling Fork, we established community support operations at five locations and built two additional facilities alongside government buildings. In Silver City, we opened two more sites to extend services.

Large-Scale Debris Removal

Within 48 hours, Dynamic mobilized personnel, equipment, and local subcontractors to clear public rights-of-way. Our efforts included:

  • Securing debris management sites (burn areas, C&D disposal sites, and landfills)
  • Coordinating with FEMA and third-party monitors for compliance
  • Removing 608,000+ cubic yards of vegetative, C&D, and white goods debris

We performed all work in full compliance with FEMA PA Category A guidelines, with thorough documentation of load tickets, receipts, and environmental records.

Supporting Communities and Government Operations

To restore local government functions, Dynamic built four modular buildings (totaling 7,500 square feet), fully ADA-accessible and connected by covered walkways. These served as temporary facilities for:

  • Police Station
  • Chancery Clerk
  • Tax Assessor
  • Mayor’s Office

Each building featured private offices, reception and meeting areas, break rooms, and restrooms. Dynamic also:

  • Provided potable water, wastewater disposal, and temporary power
  • Coordinated with the county’s IT provider to install a temporary network
  • Ensured all operations complied with FEMA requirements

Results That Matter

  • 608,000+ cubic yards of debris removed
  • 100% FEMA reimbursement
  • Deployment in less than 48 hours
  • Restored safe access, stabilized government operations, and helped communities recover faster

“Dynamic mobilized within 24 hours with professionalism, rapid response, and dedication to restore essential services and stability to our communities.”
