This summer, as the LSU AgCenter’s Camp Grant Walker in Pollock, LA, celebrates 100 years of hosting camps, thousands of young campers from across the state will return to its bunkhouses for the first time since Hurricanes Laura and Ida caused significant damage to its buildings in 2020
Camp Grant Walker is the only 4-H camp in Louisiana, hosting camps and events for over 6,000 young people across the state. In 2020, Hurricanes Laura and Delta devastated multiple areas of the camp and shuttered camp activities for nearly a year.
Camp Grant Walker holds a special place in the hearts of the many Louisiana children who grew up attending its 4-H summer camps, including several members of our Dynamic Team and our CEO Josh McCoy. When Josh learned help was needed to reconstruct damaged buildings, Dynamic donated the resources to reopen the 2022 summer camp. Senior Project Manager Mike Lasher said the project brought back many happy memories of his time as a camper and later a counselor.
Dynamic Group was recognized as a Lifetime Emerald donor at the 2022 4-H Honor Banquet on June 21, 2022, for the donation and our support of Camp Grant Walker. Camp Grant Walker hosts educational programs, corporate meetings and youth events in addition to 10 weeks of summer camp serving all 64 parishes of Louisiana. The center also provides facilities, lodging, and management for various meetings and camps throughout the fall and spring seasons.
