Dynamic Group recently completed site work on FEMA’s 2097 West Park temporary housing development in Schriever, LA.
West Park, the largest FEMA temporary housing development built in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, will be home to 203 families displaced by the storm.
The Dynamic crew cleared 38 acres of former sugarcane field and performed all site prep to prepare the development for residents. Despite adverse weather and seemingly nonstop summer thunderstorms, construction was completed in just 90 days. The scope of work included dirt work and hauling and spreading 40,000 tons of limestone for parking and pads. Our team installed all utilities, electrical posts, water and sewage lines, and fire hydrants. Dynamic also constructed wet wells, a sewer plant, and two sewer lift stations. To help this residential development feel more like home, Dynamic installed two covered school bus stops, two mailbox centers, and three dog parks. Hurricane fencing featuring hand-woven screening surrounding the development provides privacy for the residents.
